For this project a partner and I were tasked with creating a short film between 1 minute and 90 seconds. This film had to take place in a 1-2 minute time frame and there couldn't be any audio. The whole film had to represent one word. Our assigned word was awe.
During our brainstorming phase we created a storyboard and brainstorming sheet (attached below). Doing this first before jumping straight into filming allowed us to create a well thought out plan of attack for how we would film and edit to get the intended story. As we were creating these brainstorming sheets we were able to visualize what shots we wanted to get, where we wanted to capture them and how we would get the shot. We also were able to start thinking about how these individual shots could be edited together to create one big film. During the editing process I utilized the Premiere Rush editing system.
Looking back on it, we could've done more to try to emphasize how the film was symbolizing the word awe. I also should've gone more in-depth when it came to editing. These are things I will try to focus on next project to make it even better. I think however that our plan for filming the shots in the specific order we did in order to save time was very beneficial to our project.
